Saint Saens Danse Macabre
Respighi/Rossini La Boutique Fantasque
Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique
Artist and illustrator James Mayhew explores a fantastic symphony with the de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra.
James will draw live on stage while the orchestra perform Berlioz’ Symphony Fantastique which has the highly appropriate subtitle “An episode in the Life of an Artist, in Five Parts”. This symphony contains some wonderfully rich and evocative music on themes of fantastic, and sometimes ghostly, visions.
In introduction the orchestra, conducted by Robin Browning, will play Saint Saens Danse Macabre and Respighi’s La Boutique Fantastque – the Magic Toyshop – based on Rossini’s piano pieces.
